The Wanderer In Me

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?

That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.

I don’t much care where-

Then it doesn’t matter which way to go”

– Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

Just like Alice, I’ve been chasing the white rabbit in this endless hole. Well, it’s just a metaphor, of course—not of some hallucinogenic drugs, but of my never-ending wandering adventures. Traveling gives me an unexplainable high; it is a very addictive drug. The more you wander, the more you seek more wandering. Wanderlust.

Wanderer

Actually, I am a late bloomer when it comes to traveling. After graduating, I was busy working in a hospital for nearly 7 years. I pursued my Masters of Public Health degree for 2 years. During this time, I worked as a research assistant at the university. Then, I spent 1 and a half years teaching. Work kept me busy. But until, an offer to study abroad came. Though it was not my first time to go abroad, it opened the world to me. Japan became my hub of the world.

During my nearly six-year stay in Japan, I gained a doctoral degree, published scientific papers, made international friends, and collected many stamps in my passport. I am a researcher by choice and a wanderer by chance.

Join me in my journeys and adventures. So, let the blog begin!

I….

am a wanderer trapped in a scientist’s heart.

I….

am an Asian longing to conquer the whole world.

I….

am from the lineage of conquistadores and aventureros.

I….

am a wanderer and these are my adventures.
