If you travel a lot, you will definitely need a phone application to manage your trips.

For me, I highly recommend the TripIt app. This was developed by Concur Technologies, an American travel management software company, and was released in January 2011. I started using TripIt in August 2013 with my trip to UK. And since then, it has become my steady travel companion.

The TripIt app is free and you just need to sign up for an account. You can upgrade it to TripIt Pro. The cost is $49 per year. This option is available if you want to know the status of your upcoming flights. As for me, I just use the free one as it already gives me all that I need.

With TripIt, you can enter all the information about your trip. This includes your airline flight numbers and schedules. You can also add your hotel reservation and confirmation numbers. Include the map location and contacts of your hotel. Your travel itineraries can also be added, etc. This makes my travel life easier (no more hassles of looking for emails).

What I like about TripIt is that it can show you an animation of your route on the map. It gives you a bird’ s-eye view of how far you will travel. It saves your past trips, which you can return to if you need something from them.

Well, I think TripIt will stay my travel app buddy for years to come. And it is true what J.R.R. Tolkien said: not all who wander are lost, especially those who have a perfect travel app companion (lol!).

Oh, and yes, they do remind you with an e-mail when your trip is approaching.
