The Frozen Shirahige Waterfalls

The frozen Shirahige waterfalls is an eye candy.
If there’s one word to best describe the frozen Shirahige Waterfalls- that should be MAGICAL!

It was winter last year, on the same month, that we visited this jawdropping scenery located in Biei, Hokkaido. This waterfall is also a beautiful summer destination but it looks more amazing in winter.

The frozen water flowing at the falls.
The word shirahige means white beard and the name was coined as the water flowing alongside the rocks resembled white beard.  The beautiful splash of cobalt blue is created by the water spring beneath the rocks and the impact of the water plunging to the rocks below. The waterfalls which stands more than 30 meters tall can be best viewed from the helix bridge.

The bridge where you can view the Shirahige waterfalls.
Shirahige Falls looks like the place where the winter fairies dance and play with the magical snowflakes. I was definitely dazzled by the magnificent view of this pristine beauty.

The pristine white beauty of the scenery can dazzle anyone.
