The United States invaded the United Kingdom in 2011. That was when M&M’s World opened the world’s largest candy store to the public in Leicester Square. It has really outsmarted the British Smarties.
It covers an area of 3,250 square meters. It aims to transform Leicester Square into a world-class destination. This would allow it to compete with the Big Ben, the London Bridge, and the Eye in London.
About three years ago, I went there with my German friend to check out some of their expensive merchandise. The store was packed with tourists trying to get hold of their favorite M&Ms. There are paintings and life-size models of M&M’s characters paying homage to British culture.
And, of course, there are lots of M&M’s chocolate to choose from. One corner of the store is walled with huge glass cylinders filled with M&M’s in a variety of colors. These can be mixed together for personalized M&M’s that will surely melt in your mouth, not in your hands.
