The #HappySunday Project

October 20, 2019: San Bartolome Church, Malabon

It was October 20, 2019 when I decided to start my #HappySunday project. I aim to visit a different Catholic church every week. It is like my “Visita Iglesia” in Holy Week but on a larger scale.

October 27, 2019: National Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus, Manila

Of course, the best way to start my #HappySunday project is with the church where I grew up, San Bartolome Parish in Malabon City. Then it was followed by the National Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus as it’s feast shares the date of my birthday.

November 24, 2019: St. Michael the Archangel Parish, Taguig

As of today, I have gone to 19 churches around Metro Manila with St. Michael the Archangel in Taguig as the farthest one and Quezon City with the most number of churches I have visited so far.

January 19, 2020: Diocesan Shrine of Sto. Niño, Quezon City

It’s not easy to decide which church will I go to every Sunday. It depends on the traffic, mass schedule and if the feast of that parish is on that day or week. I chose the latter when I went to the Immaculate Conception Cathedral on December 8, Diocesan Shrine of Sto. Niño on January 18, San Roque Parish of Navotas on January 26 and the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes on February 16.

February 16, 2020: National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes, Quezon City

I am aiming to do this #HappySunday project for at least a year. 2020 has just started and it is still a long way to go. I still have so many churches to go to.

February 2, 2020: St. Francis of Assisi Church, Mandaluyong City
