Eating Peking Duck In BeiJing

Quanjude Peking Duck Restaurant

One of my goal when I went to Beijing was to eat the World famous Peking Duck. My Chinese friend brought me to Quanjude, a famous restaurant in Beijing that is known for its delicious Peking duck. The restaurant has been around for over 150 years, and has become a cultural icon in the city. It is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves good food and wants to experience the best of Beijing’s culinary scene.

The history of Quanjude dates back to 1864, during the Qing dynasty, when a man named Yang Quanren opened a small shop in Beijing that sold roasted duck. Quanjude’s heritage of roast duck preparation – using open ovens and non-smoky hardwood fuel such as Chinese date, peach, or pear to add a subtle fruity flavor with a golden crisp to the skin – was originally reserved for the imperial families. Over time, the shop became more and more popular, and eventually grew into a full-fledged restaurant. Today, Quanjude has several locations throughout Beijing, and is known for its high-quality ingredients, expert preparation, and impeccable service.

The star of the show at Quanjude is, of course, the Peking duck. This dish is made by roasting a whole duck over an open flame until the skin is crispy and golden brown, and the meat is tender and juicy. It is a truly delicious and unforgettable experience.

A certificate on the authenticity of the Peking duck was given to us.

Although it is very pricey, Quanjude is a must-visit destination for anyone who wants to experience eating an authentic Peking duck.
