The Sta. Clara de Montefalco Parish was officially founded in Brgy. Caniogan in February 1994. However, the original church’s seating capacity of 150 proved insufficient for the thousands of parishioners. Consequently, a new church was constructed, now standing at a towering height of 57 meters on a sprawling 11,230 square meters of land. It is now acclaimed as the tallest church in the Philippines.

The church’s dome, inspired by the grandeur of St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, commands attention from visitors from less than a kilometer away. Welcoming guests to the church lobby is a semi-circular ramp, while two staircases at the front also provide access to the lobby.

The hall comprises two floors with the ground floor, capable of seating up to 2,000 individuals, and the balcony, which spans the left and right sides of the church. The open space on the balcony can accommodate approximately another 500 people.

The splendid altar is embellished with elaborate carvings inspired by the coconut tree, featuring figures of the Crucifix, St. Joseph, the Immaculate Conception, and the parish’s patron saint, Sta. Clara de Montefalco positioned at the center.
