It was nearly the feast of Sto. Tomas de Villanueva when we visited the church dedicated to him in Santolan, Pasig. The saint was a Spanish archbishop under the Augustinian order. He was famous for being a man of charity with the extent of his care for the poor of his see. His feast day will be celebrated this coming September 22nd.

The Santo Tomas de Villanueva Church is considered one of the oldest churches in Pasig having been first built as a big chapel in 1798. It was established as a church in 1953 and was declared a Pilgrim Church by Pope Francis through a papal decree on April 17, 2013.
