I am a “One Piece” avid fan, as proven by my collection of action figures. So when I read on the news that SM North EDSA mall will put up 21-foot-tall Giant Straw Hat Luffy, I was so excited to see it. The massive inflatable Luffy serves as the centerpiece of the third run of Animezing North exhibit in collaboration with Toei Animation Enterprises and Funk, which has already traveled to various countries including Japan, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.

Japanese manga creator, Eichiro Oda, released the debut volume of the “One Piece” manga series on July 22, 1997. Oda has graciously invited fans into a meticulously constructed world, filled with intricate geopolitics, influential characters, and meticulously designed settings. Fast forward twenty-six years, and we’ve witnessed the birth of the first live-action adaptation on Netflix, which has captured the world’s attention.

The “One Piece” exhibit will be on display for 19 days from September 20 until October 8 at SM City North EDSA’s The Block Atrium.
