Welcome to the Bolinao Lighthouse
Perched high above the scenic cliffs of Barangay Patar in Bolinao, Pangasinan, the Cape Bolinao Lighthouse stands as a timeless sentinel overlooking the vast expanse of the West Philippine Sea. It was built in 1903 through the collaboration of Filipino, American, and British engineers.

The lighthouse is situated at an elevation of 107 meters (351 ft) above sea level. It is the second highest in the Philippines. It is next only to the famous Cape Bojeador Lighthouse in Ilocos Norte. The tower itself rises 30.78 meters (101 ft) high.

The lighthouse originally housed third-order equipment made in England, with its lantern sourced from France. Over time, the mechanism aged. A close replica crafted by Filipino mechanics replaced it. This preserved its historic integrity. Until the 1980s, the lighthouse apparatus was powered by kerosene. It was finally connected to the Pangasinan Electric Cooperative grid. This marked its transition into the modern era. It is now maintained under the Philippine Coast Guard’s Adopt-a-Lighthouse Program.
