The Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) has changed its final stop in the north to Fernando Poe Jr. station in accordance with Republic Act 11608, a law signed in 2020 renaming Roosevelt Avenue as Fernando Poe Jr. Avenue in honor of the late action star. The ceremonial unveiling of the new station name was done on the late Filipino screen icon’s 84th birthday last August 20th.

What’s On Your Bucket?
The creation of a travel bucket list offers a thrilling approach to envision and organize your forthcoming escapades. It provides an opportunity to establish objectives and ambitions for discovering unfamiliar locations, immersing yourself in diverse cultures, and crafting indelible experiences. Here are some tips on what to include on your bucket list.
The COVID-19 Pandemic
As of this writing, there were already more than a thousand patients in the Philippines who are confirmed positive for the virus. These numbers might be double or triple of the actual positives because there were not enough tests available and not enough facility to do the tests. I don’t know when this pandemic will end. All I know is that we need to survive. I hope we survive.
2010-2019 is a Decade to Beat
The last decade, I can say, was the best one of my life. It was a decade of so many first times: from getting my PhD degree to traveling to a lot of countries. As the new decade starts, here is the rundown of the milestones in my life from 2010 to 2019.
The Fries That Almost Killed Me
I started to eat some and then suddenly when I breathe, a fries went into my trachea accidentally. It has blocked my airway and I was struggling to breathe. I can feel that I will soon be unconscious as my brain will be deprived with oxygen. So I forced myself to cough more and harder to get it out of my air passage. Success! I can breathe again.
Throwback Trips
Throwback trips are coming your way! Sorry for the very late write-ups.
Busy… Crazy… Busy.
It’s been a long while since my last entry here in my blog. I’ve been so busy since I have moved back to the Philippines.
Ue O Muite Aruko! (My Japan Journey Ends 2009-2017)
Kyu Sakamoto’s 1961 song “Ue O Muite Aruko” means “Let’s look up and walk” and is a song with lyrics about sadness and isolation. I think this is my farewell song for Japan, as I still need to look up and continue walking even if it’s sad to leave. The song was about encouraging people not to look back at the sad past of World War 2 and its aftermath, but to be positive and have hope for the future. Of course, that will not be the case for me. Japan will always be a big part of my past and contributed a lot on my present and future.
The 7-Day Nature Photo Challenge
I think almost everyone of us with social network accounts have received menacing chain messages telling us that we will have an eternal bad luck or burn in hell if we do not spread the message to other people by either private messages or by posting it on our accounts’ wall. This was however not the case with the challenge I received recently through my Facebook account. The challenge is that to post pictures of nature for a week on the FB wall and nominating other people to do the same. It is much like the ice bucket challenge without the ice, the bucket and the money donations (lol!). Actually, I was already invited to do this challenge five times and this is the only time that I gave in to the challenge.
Wandering 101
This is my 101st entry in this blog and it’s Easter Sunday! For today, I will just talk about what I did this past holy week. I haven’t done any wandering and I was just stuck at the laboratory doing experiments. But I did do the Via Crucis and watch the Batman Vs Superman movie.
Memoirs Of A Digital Farmer
It was the year 2009, I just arrived in Japan for my doctoral education. At the same time, Zynga developed FarmVille as a game on Facebook. Living in a cold countryside, I was so bored whenever I am back in my dormitory. I even finished the whole “Death Note” anime series in less than a week. Then I discovered FarmVille. I started playing until it became part of my daily routine. I was so hooked with FarmVille that I can still hear their background music playing inside my head until now.

Why did Alice follow the White Rabbit?
Well, definitely it was her unthinking decision to follow the White Rabbit that leads her to her adventure. But have you ever wondered why she really followed him? Because the White Rabbit was talking? Or because he was wearing clothes? Or maybe because of his fancy pocket watch? I think it’s because Alice love adventures. Curiosity might lead her to fall down the rabbit hole, but the whole adventure was worth it.
