The Gingerbread House in Alfonso, Cavite is positioned as a small theme park, with the gingerbread-style building serving as its central feature. Set in the middle of the area, the main house anchors the entire attraction, while the surrounding spaces are meant to extend the experience beyond a simple walk-through.

Inside the park, candy canes, gumdrops, gingerbread figures, oversized teddy bears, and miniature gingerbread houses fill the surroundings. The design is clearly geared toward children, but the overall setup feels fairly basic. It doesn’t take long to go through, and the experience is more about visual cues and photo stops than any sense of immersion or discovery.

As a theme park, the attraction includes additional areas such as a kids’ playground, but these come with extra fees on top of the ₱200 entrance charge for both adults and children. For families, these added costs can quickly make the visit feel more expensive than expected.

There is also a cookie peel-off activity promoted as an interactive feature of the park. In practice, it feels quite underwhelming, more like a simple add-on than a meaningful hands-on experience. It provides a short diversion but does little to elevate the visit.

One of the more unusual features is the so-called “snow show,” which uses soap suds to simulate falling snow. While it is meant to be playful and funny, the result is mixed. Children enjoy the novelty at first, but many end up soaked and covered in soap afterward, which can be uncomfortable rather than amusing, especially without clear preparation or warnings for parents.

Overall, while the Gingerbread House in Alfonso is technically a theme park, its scale and execution remain limited. It may have felt more appealing in its early years, but signs of aging and lack of maintenance are now noticeable. With a relatively high entrance fee and several paid add-ons, the experience can feel underdeveloped. It works best as a brief stop for families with young children who are already nearby, rather than a destination worth going out of one’s way for.
