About

The author of Amoj In Wanderland is a traveler with a curious mind and a deep appreciation for culture, history, and storytelling. With a background in research and a passion for exploration, he approaches each destination not just as a tourist, but as a keen observer—drawn to the narratives behind sacred spaces, forgotten landmarks, vibrant traditions, and everyday moments.

This blog is a collection of journeys—through centuries-old churches, hidden alleys, mountaintop shrines, bustling heritage streets, and quiet museums. Each post is guided by a desire to understand the soul of a place and to share its story with honesty and reflection.

Whether walking through the medieval streets of Bern, Switzerland, observing wildlife in Hokkaido, Japan, visiting ancestral towns in the Philippines, or soaking in the rhythms of New Orleans, USA, the author writes with a voice that is personal, thoughtful, and grounded in wonder. He also visits ancestral towns in the Philippines and traces spiritual routes across Southeast Asia. The goal is not just to go far, but to see deeply—and to inspire others to do the same.

The author is currently an Associate Professor at the College of Public Health, University of the Philippines Manila. In his free time, he travels—seeking not only new sights but meaningful stories that connect people, places, and memory.

Amoj In Wanderland is, above all, a travel diary shaped by curiosity, meaning, and reflection. Thank you for wandering along.

Hello! I read about your itinerary in Okinawa on your website and I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions about the Okinawa Bus Tour? I’ve read their website but information given were very minimal. Thanks!

        Hello,

Thank you so much for your reply!

I understand from the website the tour starts at 8.30am. Did it end at about 3.30pm?

Were you given more info, i.e. brochure or full itinerary upon boarding the bus? If not do you remember roughly how much time was given at each attraction?

For places in which entrance fees are not included, would it be compulsory to go in? Or can we just hang around that area until the bus leaves?

Love your itinerary by the way. My husband and I visited Okinawa last year in October and we had fun too. This time around my parents are visiting on their own and I’m trying to gather as much information as I could for them as they are in their 60s and they don’t speak Japanese!

        Regards,

        Charlize

I took 2 of their bus tours. Yes, they will give the itinerary when you pay at their office desk. The tour guide though will just speak in Japanese. For each attraction, they will allot around 1 to 2 hours, the longest is with the Aquarium. The entrance fees are almost included in all the tours except for the Aquarium and the Museum. For the aquarium, they will give you a discounted ticket if you buy from them.

If you don’t want to enter those places, you can just hang around there. Just be in time when the bus leaves. I think the bus will be back at Naha at 5pm.
